DEI Automate model 425 Remote Programming Instructions

This DEI Automate model 425 system uses replacement remote: EZSDEI471, 471T, 471CEZSDEI474V473A

Your system can be paired with up to 4 remotes. It also comes with one remote that is already programmed to it. Follow the instructions below to change your remote's buttons function and or to program a new remote.

VALET switch/button is something you'd need need to program the remote.

1. Turn the ignition ON. Don't start the engine.

2. Within 10 seconds, press the valet switch the number of times corresponding to the desired channel listed below. Then press the switch/button again and HOLD it. LED will flash and do not release the the switch/button yet.

3. Press the button on the remote that you'd like to program to the system.

4. Release the button/switch once the button is programmed.

You can advance from programming one channel to another by releasing the switch/button and tapping it to advance steps and then holding it. For example: You have programmed Channel One and you want to program Channel Two. Release the switch/button, press it one time and release it to advance from Channel One to Channel Two. Now, press and HOLD the switch/button. The LED will flash two times. As before, do not release it yet.

If you want to program Channel Three after programming Channel One, release the switch/button, press it twice and release it to advance to Channel Three. Then press it again and HOLD it. LED will flash three times which means it's ready to program the assigned button for Channel Three.


The following Learn Routine can be used to program this replacement transmitter to the system. Refer to the owner's wallet card to find which system (ignition or start) was installed.

Starter kill system learn procedure.

1. Key Start. Turn the key to the start position. if the vehicle does not start then proceed to step 3. if the vehicle start then  the starter kill system is not armed. proceed to step 2.
2. Key Off. Turn key off and wait for 40 seconds. Turn the key to the start position and the vehicle should not start.
3. Cycle. Turn the key OFF and then cycle the key from off to start position 3-times within 5 seconds and then hold in the start position on the 4th turn.
4. Learn. Press button 1 on the transmitter within 5 seconds (the starter cranks). Repeat steps above to learn up to a total of 4 transmitter.
5. Test. Turn the key OFF and wait 30 seconds. Press transmitter button 1, turn the key to start, the vehicle should not start. Test transmitter button 2. Turn the key to ignition and press transmitter button 2. Turn the key to start. the vehicle should crank and start.

Ignition kill system learn procedure.

1. Key. Turn the key to the ignition position. if the power is present, then the ignition kill system is not armed. If no power is present proceed to step 3.
2. Key Off. Turn key off and wait for 40 seconds. Turn the key to the ignition position again. Power should be present.
3. Cycle. Turn the key OFF and then cyclce the key from off to ignition position 3-times within 5 seconds and then hold in the ignition position on the 4th turn.
4. Learn. Press button 1 on the transmitter within 5 seconds (ignition has power). Repeat steps above to learn up to a total of 4 transmitter.
5. Test. Turn the key OFF and wait 30 seconds. Press transmitter button 1, turn the key to ignition position. The ignition should not have power. Test transmitter button 2. Turn the key to ignition and press transmitter button 2. Turn the key to start. the vehicle should crank and start.

If your vehicle's system was installed without the valet switch you can order one and install it to make it easier to do the programming.
