Automate 6401A Remote Programming Instructions

This Automate 6401A system uses replacement remote: 471A, EZSDEI471A

Please Note: Inorder to know the type of system (Start/Ignition) installed in your car, check the owner's wallet card.

Perform these steps for Starter Kill System.

1. Key Start. Turn the key to start position. If the vehicle doesn't start then jump to step 3. If the vehicle starts then the starter kill system is not armed proceed to step 2.
2. Key Off. Turn key off and wait for 40 seconds. Turn the key to the start position and the vehicle should not start.
3. Cycle. Turn the key OFF and then cyclce the key from off to start position 3-times within 5 seconds and then hold in the start position on the 4th turn.
4. Learn. Press the "Automate" button on your remote within 5 seconds (the starter cranks). If you'd add more remotes (maximum of 4) just repeat the steps from the top.
5. Test. Turn the key OFF and wait 40 seconds. Turn the key to start, the vehicle should not start. Shake the remote so it'll send a disarm signal, turn the key to start, the vehicle should crank and start. If did not work, press the AUTOMATE button from the remote and do it again.

Perform these steps for Ignition Kill System.

1. Key. Turn the key to the ignition position. If the power is present, then the ignition kill system is not armed. If no power is present proceed to step 3.
2. Key Off. Turn key off and wait for 40 seconds. Turn the key to the start position and the vehicle should not start.
3. Cycle. Turn the key OFF and then cyclce the key from off to start position 3-times within 5 seconds and then hold in the start position on the 4th turn.
4. Learn. Press the "Automate" button on your remote within 5 seconds (ignition has power). If you'd add more remotes (maximum of 4) just repeat the steps from the top.
5. Test. Turn the key OFF and wait 40 seconds. Turn the key to start, the vehicle should not start. Shake the remote so it'll send a disarm signal, turn the key to start, the vehicle should crank and start. If did not work, press the AUTOMATE button from the remote and do it again.

If your vehicle's system was installed without the valet switch you can order one and install it to make it easier to do the programming.
